Why should we follow traditions?

Humans are creatures of habit.

Every habit has a short term and a long term effect.

Epigenetic effect as well as outside effects.

Read the science quoted in Charles Duhigg's book, about the "The power of Habit", and of course the point the book is trying to make.

Read about the general "habits" and especially the morning routines (habits) of highly successful people across time and cultures. (youtube it)

Then compare those to the routines described in our major traditions.

We also need to understand traditions in the light of when they were formed to see through many of the "rituals" and look for the underlying reasons for these rituals.

So called "freedoms" people have "no habits" anymore. Other than getting sucked into addictions. One addiction after another, starting from food, to sex, to porn, to binge watching, to social media, to phones, to alcohol, to smoking, to hard drugs. These only lead to a lot of suffering over time.

Tradition "creators" understood the underlying human psychology and the impact of following through on the animal that the human psychology dictates. They at the same time created traditions and enforced the populace to follow up on these traditions, precisely by using the power of the same human psychology, rather the psychology of the animal brain  that is hell bent on being slave to its habits.

Traditions, well at least the one followed in the lineage that I belong to, ALL of them will at the worst case lead to a peaceful life, a peace of mind at all times, non-reactivity, a balanced health, a long life, and "satvic" smarts that only are useful for making the world a better place. Best case is for your to find out yourself. Do your research.

The modern life style that is hell bent on people picking up "bad" habits, at best leads to miserable physical and mental health issues that might give people some pleasure in the short term, but in the long run are bound to make one's life miserable.

I cannot think of a single habit created in our modern times that has contributed to an iota of happiness to anyone EVER.

Do your research, ask me questions.... and think!

If spoonfed you all of the info related to the points made you will never "Actualize" these things into your life.

Don't you think? think!
